How-To Tuesday: How to Write a Blog Post

Writing a blog post can be a fun and creative way to share your ideas and experiences with a wider audience. Blogs not only inform your followers while establishing you as a pioneer in your industry, but they also help with SEO and increase traffic to your website, which is always a good thing, especially in such a highly competitive industry that is international education.

If you need guidance with getting your blogs ready, here are some steps you can follow:

Choose a Topic

Choose a topic that you are passionate about or that you have expertise in. This will make it easier to write and engage your readers. For example, if you specialise in pathway programs, show the agents, students and parents who are following you online, what makes you an expert in this field.

Do your Research

Before you start writing, do some research on your chosen topic to ensure that you have all the information you need to write a comprehensive and informative blog post. By doing so, you will also be getting ideas on future blog topics. Check what questions you keep getting from your partner agents or what students enjoy the most, and focus on those topics.

Create an Outline

Once you have done your research, create an outline for your blog post. This will help you organize your thoughts and ensure that you cover all the important points.

Edit and Proofread

You’re done with the writing, now be sure to edit and proofread it carefully. Check for spelling and grammar errors, as well as any other mistakes that could detract from the quality of your content.

Publish and Share

Finally, publish your blog post and share it on your social media, use it as newsletter content and place it on any other relevant platforms to help it reach a wider audience. One thing we always ask for here at Schools & Agents is your original content. Blog posts that target education agents would also be ideal to share with us, and we will continue expanding your reach by placing them on our channels too!

Remember, writing a blog post takes time and effort, but you can also repurpose it for many other digital channels. The more you do it, the better you will become, at it… And if you can’t or don’t have the time, why not send us an email on [email protected], so we can give you a hand?
